Film Scoring and Sound Design

Below are some mini-movies and commercials I did as assignments at Duquesne. Click on the screen shot to view the movie. They may take some time to load with slower connections. These projects were done for educational purposes only.
A short Sci-Fi film with an emphasis on sound design. This was done for a week-long summer class at Duquesne, so it was composed, mixed, and produced through Pro-Tools in only a few days. The main melody is presented with a reversed electric piano, and then restated at the end with a reversed acoustic piano. Also notice the pitch shifted steel drums (the very high sprinkled sound) and wah-wah trumpet mixed with cattle (alien voices). 2.6MB
An Adelphia commercial incorporating sound design. 1MB

A short Sci Fi Channel ad. 200k
Trifocal commercial using sound design exclusively. Using melody, harmony or rhythm was forbidden in this composition assignment. 2MB
A commercial that I used Reason to generate a loop with sampled sounds (the clicky sound). I was going for simple and slightly quirky. 450k
A mini movie about bees chasing each other with an unexpected ending. This was one of my first tries at scoring for film. I'm especially pleased with the way the ending turned out. This may take some time to load. The file size is 6.6 MB and it lasts a little over 2 minutes.
A short Sci Fi Channel ad. Watch carefully! 2.6MB
